Five Pairings I'd Love to See Happen (But Never Will)by Raisintorte
Sam/John
"So, do you really carry a lemon around with you?" Sam sped up so she could catch John.
"What do you think?" John winked at Sam as they walked down the hall.
"You wish you could, but Rodney knows how to manipulate too many systems around Atlantis for you to try it?" Sam grinned at John.
"Pretty much. So what do you think of our fair city?"
"It's amazing. I could spend years going through the databases and never be bored." After the words came out, Sam realized that she must sound like the biggest geek, then she remembered that John hung out with McKay on a regular basis.
"And the view of the sunset from the south pier isn't too shabby either." They had reached a fork in the hallway. John turned towards Sam, smiled, and inclined his head towards the tower, issuing an invitation with his head and eyes.
"Colonel Sheppard, is that an invitation?"
"Yup."
"Okay then, let's go. Dinner, and databases can wait – we have two days before the Orion heads back – I can't spend the entire time working." Sam smiled when John offered her his arm and they started walking down the hall.
She had a lot of work to do, but taking a half hour to spend some time with a sweet man watching the sunset wouldn't cause the world to end. Even heroes needed a life sometimes.
Veronica/Lamb
"You're an ass." Veronica perched herself on the edge of Lamb's desk and glared down at him.
"And you're the biggest pain in it." Lamb stood up and walked around to leer over Veronica.
He walked around and perched himself between her legs, leaned forward, and kissed her.
Veronica leaned back and looked at him, "Yup, total ass. But I guess this makes you my ass."
Young Hammond/Sam
"Ma'am, how is your hand feeling?" Lieutenant Hammond walked over to where Sam was sitting by the fire and put his hand on her shoulder.
"It's fine, Lieutenant Thank you. How did you find us earlier?" Sam had to resist the urge to lean into his shoulder. This was General Hammond for petes sakes.
"It wasn't that hard. I just followed the trail where I knew you entered the woods, I saw that van pick you up, and I followed. I just felt that there was something else I could do to help you, something else I needed to do." Sam titled a bit while Hammond was talking, and he put his arm around her shoulder. She didn't want to snuggle in, but that's what she found herself doing.
"I'm sure we can think of some way for you to help us tomorrow. For us to find our way home, we're probably going to tangle with the military again, and we could need your help." Hammond pulled his arm tighter around Sam, and she knew she had to extricate herself from this situation before it got out of hand. If - when - they made it back, she would have to face his older counterpart.
Then Hammond turned his and kissed her. And she decided she would deal with the ramifications later - right now, for once - she was doing something for her and she kissed him back.
Macy/Jordan
"I need a drink -- let's go Jordan!"
"But you're an alcoholic Garrett! You shouldn't be drinking."
"Yes, and you're wanted for murder and a condition of your bail is you can't be in the morgue. That hasn't stopped you, why should my well established problem stop me?"
"Good point! Let's go – wanna go back to my place and have sex while we're at it?"
"Sure!"
The End.
Bates/Me
"That's a pretty spiffy apron you're wearing there Sergeant." Annie had been eying the Sergeant and his apron since she arrived at the Barbeque. She had finally gotten up the nerve to go over and talk to him.
"Thank you ma'am, I really am a big fan of barbequing." Bates smiled the brightest smile Annie had ever seen, and she was immediately smitten.
She knew she had to act fast before this man was snatched up and away from her. "That's fantastic! How do you feel about kids?"
Bates grinned and looked around at the other children at the picnic "I want a bundle, to run around my yard while I Barbeque. You?"
The answer was perfect, in fact everything about the Sergeant was perfect. "Me too!"
"Want to get married?" Bates obviously had seen in Annie what she was seeing in him.
"Yes!" Annie jumped up and threw her arms around Bates. All of her dreams were finally coming true.
