Tim visits post Bruce-tells



what'd I do wrong? if he was unhappy with me as Robin, 
gonna fire me, why didn't he just SAY so?

not that. when he fired ME, he said it outright so there'd be 
no mistake. 

sure it wasn't you.

why? how can you be sure?

Garth-- seen this many times, growing up with Dick. 
respect Bruce greatly but he always seems...to hurt the ones 
he loves the most. I wonder--

"If he's not subconsciously driving you away before you 
leave him. Like his parents did."

Tim stared at him, horrified. 

Garth sighed. "I shouldn't have said. That's just...a thought. 
I truly don't know his mind, Tim."

"It makes an awful lot of sense, though," Tim said slowly. 
"And Dick refuses to leave no matter what, right? But I 
don't know if I can do that. I mean, he-- all this time, 
everything I did to keep my ID secret to protect his, and he 
just gave it away!"

"Your relationship with Bruce is completely different than 
Dick's. "

"I don't know if I can forgive him."

"I'm afraid you'll have to decide that for yourself." Garth's 
voice remained carefully neutral.
